Does your job stress you the %$ out?
Ever get the "sunday scaries"?
Do you feel lonely or isolated at work?
Are you having arguments against yourself in the shower days after a conflict?
If you're nodding along to any of the above or are or have ever experienced chronic stress as a result of work, you need to hit that RSVP button right now. You're not alone! Come participate in an interactive discussion lead by strategic culture consultant and mental health counselor Jena Booher. We'll explore how we crush it our demanding (and competitive!) jobs, without sacrificing our mental health and well-being in the process.
Typical conditions that can result from chronic work stress and psychological injuries (think: failure, rejection, loneliness, betrayal) include emotional and/or physical exhaustion, desire to call out sick or quit all-together, work/family conflict, and identity issues. Jena will discuss some of the common diagnoses she sees in her practice (such as anxiety and depression), common pitfalls that exacerbate symptoms, and practical tools to boost our own emotional health – for use in and out of the office.
While Jena's treatment approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she comes from a humanistic perspective, believing that each of us is born with everything that we need to get through life in a happy and healthy way. Let's do this!
– Actionable advice for identifying, addressing and overcoming psychological injuries at work
– Best practices for combating rumination
– Tips on how to encourage culture change at your office
Before we sit down for our programming, each guest will get 2 curated 15 minute connections handpicked just for them based on bios submitted pre-event here: https://goo.gl/forms/D8Tvyr3ygwPSwaGF2 . Or you can make sure to update your profile in your app with your most recent bio or email email@example.com with a copy.

About Recess / Recess IRL:
Recess is a period of time in everyone’s day; it’s something we loved as kids but seems to have gone away as we’ve gotten older. It’s also a sparkling water infused with hemp extract and adaptogens, an instagram, a feeling, and, most pertinently, an IRL event space.
Recess IRL is delighted to host Six Degrees Society. We will be offering complimentary pours of all flavors of Recess during the event, as well as a can to take home at the end of the night to keep that calm, cool, collected feeling going all week long.
Recess IRL is located at 680 Broadway (near the intersection of Great Jones) in Manhattan. Come take a Recess anytime (except Monday. on Monday, we take a Recess) Tuesday - Saturday 12-7p, Sunday 12-5p.
Cancellation Policy: We have a 12 hour cancellation policy for our events. Please cancel directly in the app, otherwise you will not receive a refund.
