About this class

Event Title: Let's Talk Romance: An Intimate Salon Conversation with Six Degrees Society

What's Happening?
In the era of go go go it's hard to carve out intimate and deep conversations. That's just what the Gay Salon Founder Erik Piepenburg has been doing within the gay community. Started as a way for gay men to talk about being gay today, The Gay Salon has since expanded to bring together people from various backgrounds for frank, funny and honest conversations about our world.

During our Salon, Erik will moderate a series of questions about a variety of topics -- from work to current events and popular culture -- curated just for us in the intimate style of The Gay Salon. At Six Degrees Society we're all about fostering intimate connections and we're thrilled to be partnering with a conversation that will be a mix of connecting both on a networking capacity and intimately in a group setting. Bring your curiosity.

The evening will unfold in three sections, each one focused on a specific theme and grouped around particular types of questions that make The Gay Salon a one-of-a-kind experience.

What is Romance?
Formats: Round robin, secret ballot
Roses and chocolates? Netflix and chill? Girls' night out? Whatever happens on Valentine's Day, it's an opportunity for everyone -- single, dating or married -- to really examine what it means to be a romantic person. A series of questions, both for the group and anonymously, will get to the heart of what it means to give your heart to someone else.

What is Taste?
Format: Small Group
At a time when style and fashion no longer have rules, what does it mean to have good taste? Through a series of small group questions, we'll learn what taste means today, and explore how you can best develop your personal sense of style by learning about how other people define theirs.

What is Work?
Formats: Small group, secret ballot
You are not your job -- or are you? In this round the questions will focus on what work means to you and how work informs -- and complicates -- life around you. Among the life lessons: how to manage a work-life balance, how money plays a role in happiness and how being your own strong advocate can make a world of difference.
